more leftovers

I ate leftovers again today. See?

After lunch, we went to a friend’s house and played games. I love board games and card games and really enjoy that my kids are old enough to play fun ones and still let me play with them!

I also wanted to share this picture of Docker’s grumpy face earlier today. I think all our going out and visiting friends has him antsy. Hopefully he’ll settle down when school starts back up again.

beach and knitting

I managed to drag my kids out away from the computer for at least part of one of the days of this vacation. We went to my favorite off-leash dog beach. Look how beautiful it is there!

Also, my dog loves it. He even let his feet get wet this time. Usually he avoids being wet at all costs.

We all had fun. The kids and I watched the dog run around and play with other dogs and dig and roll around in the sand. Dogs are pretty entertaining when they are off leash and having fun.

Just because this is a knitting blog and I have posted a picture of it in a while, here is my poncho in progress. It’s getting longer, at least!

Sunday is my shopping day. I start off at the farmer’s market and often then go to a grocery store as well for other things. Today I also went to Target and to the fabric store for a ribbon for my dress for my husband’s work’s holiday party. Because of all of that running around, the dog didn’t get much exercise, so I took him to the dog park where he spent most of his time stalking squirrels.

Not much chasing, just stalking. Needless to say, he is running around the house right now trying to get someone to throw his toy so he can chase it. Silly dog.

hiking with my dog and poncho progress

I hiked this morning with my adorable dog and a friend. Said friend recently upgraded her iPhone. She didn’t even get the X and her phone is giving me serious camera envy. She took this amazing shot of my dog looking majestic. I am leaving this one giant, so you can fully appreciate his majesty.

Isn’t he amazing?

My friend also found a tick walking on him on the ride home and bravely held it in between her fingers until I could pull off the freeway and we could dispose of it. What a good friend.

In knitting news, I have made some progress on the bottom border of my poncho.

I’m pleased with it so far and it has been fun to knit. Talk to me later when it’s feet of stockinette. At least that will be good TV knitting.
