I got the spring issue of Interweave Knits today and noticed that they have redesigned it a bit. I'm not too enthusiastic about the way the patterns are laid out now. I liked having the pictures next to the patterns rather than photo spreads of the items with the patterns grouped together later. I guess it does make for easier photocopying because there aren't as many big photos mixed in with the patterns.
I also like a few of the sweaters but none enough to knit, I think.
Anyone else have opinions about Interweave Knits' new look?
I don't have the magazine but chances are I'll pick it up. I just saw Kate Gilbert's Slanted neck pullover and that's the only reason I'd need buy the magazine. I wanted a sweater like this ever since I saw the Curious George movie!
It sounds like it's formatted more like Vogue Knitting is (I haven't gotten my Spring issue yet). If so, eh– I agree with you; I like having the patterns and the pictures that go with them together instead of searching.
I think the patterns are of the same quality as before. I'm just nitpicking about the layout. The quality of the patterns and articles is the most important thing, of course!
There are still small pictures with the patterns, so that's a bit better than VK but I liked it the other way better.
I was super disappointed with the patterns in there! I would consider making only about 4 of the pieces-my favorite being the super cute brown v-neck cardigan…I would go get the issue to look up the name, but that would require walking in front of my boyfriend who is playing Wii, and he might get ticked!
